4th Quarter 2012 Home Prices
The fourth quarter 2012 saw home prices in Salt Lake County increase for the third quarter in a row. The continued recovery in the Salt Lake housing market pushed up median home prices 13.02% to $220,000. Home sales increased from 2,370 to 2,650, and homes were selling nearly twice as fast as the same quarter one year ago (median days on market of 32 days). Real estate investors are ago entering the market, snapping up homes in the cheaper zip codes, inflating prices by as much as 46% in some areas.
