Utah Sales TaxSales taxes are applied to a variety of goods including tangible personal property, transportation services, hotels and food. Utah Income TaxCorporate Income TaxBusinesses are required to pay 5.0% corporate tax on any income they earn in the state of Utah. If a business is located in more than 1 state then they pay tax based on an apportioned income formula. Personal Income TaxAny income that is earned or derived from Utah falls under a state income tax. In 2008 Utah moved away from the tiered tax structure to a 'Single Rate' of 5%. After calculating the flat tax amount, the tax payer maybe able to reduce the amount by applying credits. As income surpasses certain levels the credits phase out. |
