Daybreak New Home Development

 

The Daybreak new home development located in South Jordan is the largest home development ever to be undertaken in Utah. Daybreak when completed will cover 4,126 acres and comprise of over 13,000 homes. In addition to the homes there will be 5.2 million square feet of retail space, 2.4 million square feet of office space and 1.5 million square feet of industrial space. The development will be built over a time period of 15 years.

The Daybreak community is to be built on land owned by the Kennecott Mining Company. It is located in the western foothills of the Oqurrh mountains, which provide spectacular views of the valley.

While the development is very large, the developers have set aside over 1,200 acres (30%) of land for green space. This includes parks, walking trails, sports parks and even a lake.

The communities look and feel is inspired by of some of the older and most popular neighborhoods in Salt Lake City, like the Avenues, Harvard Yale and Sugarhouse.
The homes are very diverse with dozens of different styles. To maintain the feel of the old neighborhoods they have porches and tree lined avenues, while providing the modern benefit of been built to energy star ratings.
